If you are experiencing pelvic floor problems and pain negatively impacting your life, there is no reason to suffer in silence. That’s because medical providers like Penrose & Associates Physical Therapy’s Director of Pelvic Rehab Anesse Kuehl is part of the growing specialty profession dedicated to resolving these challenges. And the Penrose team invites you to attend their free workshop in Lacey on December 11, 2025.

Director of Pelvic Rehab at Penrose & Associates Specializes in Treating Pelvic Floor Disorders
Kuehl holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a physical therapy doctorate (DPT). Kuehl’s see patients for pelvic issues like incontinence, bladder overactivity, bowel pain, pelvic organ prolapses, polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, postpartum developments, post-surgical and post-radiation care, and more.
While Kuehl treats men, women and children, most of her patients are female. She says in the past many women were told to simply accept post-partum pelvic floor problems and “that’s just the way it is after you have a baby.” However, today it’s widely recognized that physical therapy can help. “There has been a big lack of awareness,” Kuehl says. “But just because you have these things doesn’t mean you have to suffer or struggle.”
Kuehl says patients typically see her when they have had enough of pelvic difficulties affecting their lives. Kuehl will assess the issue followed by pelvic floor education, discussion of factors such as stress management and sleep, and a possible physical exam depending upon the patient’s comfort level. “I tell them, ‘you are the driver,’” says Kuehl. “The number one thing is, we want to meet you where you are at in your life.”
Kuehl then develops a treatment plan that may include exercises, and tools and devices to relieve pain. “I tell patients this is a lifelong journey,” she explains. “This is not a sprint. It is a marathon. I teach them to manage the symptoms.”
