Holiday memories are some of the brightest we have. As we age, we often forget birthdays, school friends or even the street we lived on. But we never forget seeing that first bike under the tree Christmas morning, or unwrapping a favorite toy. Grandma’s last holiday is remembered with fondness, and the first time we stay up all night putting together that special bike for our own kid is one we never forget…or that time we forgot the batteries! Trips to the mall are also treasured memories: Brightly decorated stores, peppermint mochas and a visit with Santa are things we don’t soon forget. Visit Capital Mall for Photos with Santa this holiday season, along with special events to truly make the season merry and bright.

Santa Photos in Olympia
Starting November 15, 2025, Santa will be at the Capital Mall in the Macy’s Court through December 24. Tell him your wishes and get your photo!
Don’t know what to wear for your holiday photo? That’s an easy fix at the mall! For example, head to JCPenney’s Macy’s, Hot Topic or Spencer’s for a festive sweater for the entire family – even pets! – that will make your Santa photo pop! Claire’s has Santa hats and other festive accessories. Want your hair done just right? Make an appointment at the JCPenney Salon. And, for those looking for the whole nine yards when it comes to photo prep, head to MAC or Sephora for a makeover! Once you are properly decked out, snap a picture with Santa!
Santa will be at the Capital Mall during business hours. You can make a reservation online or do walk-in, but making a reservation means less time standing in line with your children.
While dogs are welcome any time, Santa Paws will be held on November 26, December 3 and December 10, especially for the pups who want to ask for that special toy.
If your child needs a quieter experience, visit Santa on November 30 and December 7 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., before the mall opens. Soothing Santa visits are perfect for children with special needs or sensory sensitivities. Reservations are required for these appointments.

Special Holiday Events in Olympia at the Capital Mall
On Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. starting November 16, the Capital Mall is sprinkling extra holiday magic into the season with special guests and activities!
Both days will have free holiday-themed crafts for your kids to enjoy, inside where it’s warm and dry! On Tuesdays, you can meet the Winter Princess and her snowman friend. On Sundays, meet your favorite green Christmas grouch and the little girl who grows his heart. Kids can interact with the characters while they do holiday crafts.
It’s just one more way the Capital Mall is dedicated to helping you make those memories your children will remember long after they outgrow that ugly Christmas sweater.
If you’re looking for Santa photos in Thurston County, you can’t go wrong with a trip to the Capital Mall – get your shopping done at the same time! Hickory Farms and See’s Candy are now open for the season, too. For more information, visit the Capital Mall website.
