The Evergreen State College men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete at the 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference Cross Country Championships at the Oak Knoll Golf Course near Independence, Oregon, on Friday, November 7. The women’s 6-kilometer race is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. PST with the men’s 8-kilometer race set to get underway at 11 a.m. PST.
Entered in the women’s race for the Geoducks are Soleil Bianchi (Jr.), Sylvia Biesack (Fr.), Dani Buttrell (Jr.), Alauna Carstens (Jr.), Althea Clifford (Fr.), Merecedies Dupont (Fr.), Maddie Morgan (Sr.), Madison Palek (Jr.),
Sherlyn Perales (So.), Mara Schwenneker (Jr.), and Izabelle Trefts (Sr.).
Competing for Evergreen in the men’s race will be Max Baeder (Jr.), Jaydon Blackburn (Jr.), Osvaldo Calderon (So.), Luis Esquivel (So.), Harlan Estrada (Sr.), Liam Kaperick (Jr.), Will Niskanen (Jr.), Charles Norris (So.), Jackson Rye (Jr.), Daniel Sanchez (Fr.), Nathaniel Sanchez (Fr.), and Evan Williams (Sr.).
College of Idaho is the defending CCC women’s team champion. The Yotes are ranked #5 in the NAIA Women’s Top 25 Rating. Also listed in the Top 25 are Eastern Oregon University at #16, Southern Oregon University at #18, and Lewis-Clark State College at #22. In the women’s race, Evergreen also will take on Bushnell University, Corban University, Northwest University, Oregon Tech, Southern Oregon University, Trinity Western University (Canada), and Walla Walla University.
Carstens from Evergreen has recorded the fastest women’s 6-kilometer time for the CCC this fall with a school record of 20:15.20. She broke her own school record of 20:48 set in 2024.
The defending CCC men’s team champion is College of Idaho. C of I, which also won the NAIA Championship last season, is ranked #12 in the NAIA Men’s Top 25 Rating. Other CCC teams ranked in the Top 25 are Southern Oregon at #9, Eastern Oregon at #10, Trinity Western at #15, and Corban at #20. Also competing against Evergreen in the men’s race will be Bushnell, Corban, Lewis-Clark State College, Northwest, Oregon Tech, and Walla Walla University.
Yemane Mulugeta of Trinity Western holds the fastest men’s 8-kilometer time this season in the CCC. His top time, which also leads the NAIA, is 23:34.1.
In each race, the top five runners from each team will contribute to the team’s score. The next two runners on each team will displace runners from other teams. CCC All-Conference honors will go to the top 15 finishers in each race.
