You can feel it. The crackle in the air. A lightness in your heart. Warm smells and bright lights fill your senses. The best time of year is upon us! Holiday memories are some of the strongest – lingering in our minds and bringing a smile to our faces long after the days are past. The City of Lacey invites your business, group, or organization to be a part of memories in the making at their annual Lacey Holiday Lights on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Huntamer Park. It’s free, so sign up today – the deadline is November 14!
“This is a great opportunity to promote your business either with a lighted vehicle or an activity booth!” shares Jeannette Sieler, recreation supervisor at Lacey Parks, Culture & Recreation. “Participation is free, and you can highlight your business in your display if you’d like!”
The 2025 Lacey Holiday Lights will feature lighted vehicles and activity booths – that could be you! – along with food vendors and, of course, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus. New this year, they will have a petting zoo with the Animals of Christmas! It’s going to be a can’t-miss holiday event in Thurston County and a great way to get out in the community.

Sign up for Lacey Holiday Lights: Spread Cheer (and Your Business Name!)
Why should you participate? Companies that get out for events like the Lacey Holiday Lights show community support, build credibility and trust, and increase positive association. All those feel-good holiday emotions will be linked to your brand! Plus, it’s a great way for people who may not know about you, to find you!
“We are excited to see what creativity we have in the community when it comes to lighting up a vehicle!” shares Jeannette. “And for those who would rather do an activity booth, you can light that up as well. Individuals are also invited to decorate a vehicle and join us!”
Are you a school, nonprofit, business, club, or church? You’re all invited! “This event is a great way to connect with the community and share their mission,” Jeannette adds. “Many activity booths offer a fun holiday craft, game, or ornament. This is a great way for schools to get involved. They can have one of their student groups create a fun, festive craft or activity and help kids put the craft together or do the activity in one of the booths. It’s fun for everyone!”
This year, the River Ridge High School marching band will be on stage performing for the tree lighting. Last year, Timberline High School’s dance team performed as well. They still have a couple of slots for local school groups that want to help celebrate the season with music – remember, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear,” – or dance! Sign up with the City of Lacey through the website today!
From donut shops to pest management companies, past participants have loved every minute of it. “We at Venables Pet Management love getting out with our community,” shares Juilana Venables, chief executive officer. “This fantastic Lacey event is great fun for the whole family. It’s so much fun interacting with the community and celebrating the holidays! We have had some amazing encounters with visitors to our booth and lighted truck display. Everyone is in a great mood and festive spirit. The food trucks are amazing and sampling their delicious meals is well worth it. It’s also a great way to come together as a company to help support what we represent.”

Friendly Competition Makes Lacey Tree Lighting Even More Festive
Even the Whos down in Whoville who liked Christmas a lot, knew that a little friendly competition could make the season brighter (at least, in the Jim Carrey version!) So, the City of Lacey has awards for lighted vehicles in several categories, including Most Christmas Cheer, Brightest Display and People’s Choice Award.
Last year’s winners were:
- Brightest Display: House of donuts
- Best Design: Daniel Guy and his sleigh
- Most Christmas Cheer: Interstate Battery jeep
- People’s Choice Award: Evergreen State Women’s Wrestling Team
Will your vehicle take home an award this year? Maybe, but even if it doesn’t, you help spread holiday cheer, which makes us all winners!
Join the City of Lacey in this merry and bright event by signing up online before November 14. The City of Lacey would like to thank the sponsors that help keep this a free event: Country Financial, Interstate Batteries and Ziply Fiber.
