Submitted by North Thurston Public District
River Ridge High School staff and students started the school year in the newly completed classroom wing! The 70-classroom building features a new library and fully equipped classrooms for science, general education, and special education.

The previous River Ridge campus layout included separate classroom wings with exterior entrances and exits. The new building is more connected and secure, providing a more community feel for the school.
This major modernization of the River Ridge High School campus is funded through voter support of the 2020 bond, as well as state funding. (Buildings that are at least 30 years old are eligible for some state funding to support modernization efforts – River Ridge first opened in 1993.)

In addition to the classroom wing, other completed portions of the project include:
- New student commons and outdoor courtyard with seating
- New tennis courts
- Auxiliary gym, including a weight room and wrestling area
- Updated pool mechanical and electrical elements, and a new pool building roof
- Upgraded student, staff, and visitor parking and bus loops
- New kitchen

Coming up next in the project:
- New music spaces
- Refurbished theater and Career and Technical Education (CTE) spaces
- New administrative wing
- New lighted track and turf field
- New spin classroom in the gym area
