You are invited to the City of Lacey’s Annual Children’s Day on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Huntamer Park. “We love children’s day. It’s a free event,” says City of Lacey Parks, Culture & Recreation Supervisor Jeannette Sieler. Local businesses, service groups, and nonprofits join the City for a day of fun, engaging activities, and awareness of community services. This year, the theme is “All Things Video Games” and encourages kids to get into the games and away from the screens. The City of Lacey is especially grateful to Molina Health Care as the presenting sponsor.

All ages can have a grand time at Children’s Day. From inflatables to a Mario-style obstacle course, kids will have a chance to use their legs and arms, rather than a controller! They can try jousting, dancing in the dance dome, and lots of other ways to get moving. In years past, themes included bugs and dinosaurs. “We want to offer what’s currently popular,” says Jeanette.

What Will Kids Get to Do at Lacey’s Children’s Day?

Kids can take a turn at various games with giveaways, get their face painted, and build with LEGOs. They can take a silly picture in a photo booth, test their skills at ring toss, and watch wrestling demonstrations. Did we mentioned playing with giant Connect Four, giant Jenga, and Tetris? Maybe make a robot, paint a wooden Mario Cart car, play in the arcade, or get a free book to take home? The day will include Makey Makey computer-based circuit games and STEAM crafts like making paper helicopters. The list continues to grow and more activities are in the works.

Youth Event in Lacey Includes New Kids Market

New this year at Lacey’s Children’s Day is a Children’s Entrepreneurial Market. Young CEOs are encouraged to display their talents in cooking, crafting, baking, or offering products and services. It is truly a one-of-a-kind opportunity for kids to launch their own business on that day. The market is designed to give space to creative minds to build confidence, interact with the public, and build business skills. This national program, Children’s Entrepreneur Market, is new for the City of Lacey. It brings a new level of engagement and excitement for everyone.

Parents can support their young business owners and release control, but they are encouraged to let their kids talk with customers, answer questions, and handle money. All food prep and serving must also be done by the child. The focus is truly on the youth. “Whether your child is just getting started or already has a growing side hustle, the Children’s Entrepreneur Market is a celebration of young talent and big dreams,” notes the City of Lacey.

To participate, you must pre-register. Spots are limited, so sign up here today!
