The Evergreen State College is ranked #23 on the NAIA Women’s Indoor Track and Field Rating Index as released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on February 11, 2025. The rating list highlights the top 25 teams in the NAIA according to their performance this season.
University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) led the NAIA women’s indoor track index with 177.73 points. Marian University (Ind.) was listed at #2 with 153.83 points. Montreat College (N.C.) was #3 at 124.58 points and Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) was #4 at 122.82. Life University (Ga.) was listed at #5 with 119.42 points.
Joining Evergreen from the Cascade Collegiate Conference in this week’s rating was Eastern Oregon University. The Mountaineers were ranked #19.
Two Geoducks have qualified for the NAIA Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships. The national meet will be held in Gainesville, Florida, from Feb. 27 through March 1.
Alauna Carstens (Jr.) has qualified for nationals in the 3,000-meter run and the 5,000-meter run. She is ranked third in the 3,000 at 9:44.54 and is seventh in the 5,000 at 17:15.53. Izabelle Trefts (Jr.) has qualified in the 3,000-meter race walk. Trefts is ranked third in the event.
Also excelling for the Geoducks this season has been Corona Parker (Sr.). She has achieved a top mark of 5′ 3.25″ in the high jump and a top score of 2,929 points in the pentathlon.
The Evergreen men’s and women’s track and field teams will compete at the UW Husky Classic in Seattle, Washington on Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15. The meet will be held at the Dempsey Indoor track and field facility.
