Earlier this month, Intercity Transit launched a new bus route that connects downtown Olympia, the Olympia Farmers Market, and the Capitol Campus. To promote ridership and support local businesses, Thurston Regional Planning Council (TRPC) is holding a scavenger hunt that will award prizes to selected winners.

The new route, which is similar to Intercity Transit’s former Dash service, is called Route 14. It operates 30-minute service on weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Anyone age 18 or older can participate in TRPC’s scavenger hunt. The event takes place through the month of January.

To participate in the scavenger hunt:

  1. Visit at least 5 participating businesses on Route 14.
  2. Find the clue and get a signature on your scavenger hunt card.
  3. Take a photo of yourself on the Route 14 bus or at a Route 14 bus stop, or anything else to show that you rode.
  4. Turn in your scavenger hunt card and photo to TRPC to be entered to win prizes.

Scavenger hunt cards are available at participating businesses and can be downloaded from TRPC’s website.

Participating businesses include:

  • Browsers Bookshop
  • The Bus Stop
  • Drip Espresso Bar
  • Old School Pizzeria
  • Ossa Skinworks
  • Rainy Day Records
  • RevMo Choppers and Coffee
  • The Sidewalk Café
  • Sound and Vision Living

No purchase is necessary to participate in the scavenger hunt. Only one entry per person may be submitted.

Scavenger hunt cards and photos must be turned in by February 7, 2025. Materials can be submitted to TRPC by emailing ThurstonCommutes@trpc.org or sending a text message to (360) 741-2521.

The prize drawing will take place on February 10, 2025. Selected winners will receive gift cards to the participating businesses.
