The Community Services Unit, one of several volunteer organizations within the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, is actively seeking recruits to serve the communities of Thurston County. Our primary mission as volunteers is to work with the community and deputies in creating ways to solve, prevent, and reduce criminal activity in our county. We typically conduct spaces, and perform traffic control at various public events throughout the county.
The safety of our volunteers is paramount! While making a presence in the community, we operate strictly as unarmed volunteers, and we do not respond to active crime scenes or other on-going criminal activities or investigations. CSU Volunteers will receive limited commission school safety patrols, check for valid disabled parking placards at businesses and public to represent Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
