The New Year is all about transformation and new experiences. Find the embodiment of both at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, January 19, 2025, with the arrival of all things wild, wacky, bendy and bizarre. “The Aluminum Show” is an extravaganza of visuals, movement, theater and laughs, all packaged in, around, dangling from and dancing with enough aluminum to wrap 1,000,000 leftover Christmas dinners or make endless tinfoil hats.
Bring the whole family to a night out that’s sure to please. This all-ages show is unlike anything you’ve seen before and kicks off 2025 with a gleaming, shiny, joyous spirit of delight.

Show producer Doron Lida says that January’s visit is part of a national tour, visiting 27 cities in over 15 states. “The Aluminum Show” is the story of one man’s incredible journey to a parallel universe and a futuristic planet made entirely of aluminum. Aluminum pipes come to life right before the audience’s eyes, transforming into imaginary, mysterious and playful characters.
Performances showcase the intertwined work of nine performers, five dancers, a comic actor and three aluminum stage prop operators, says Lida. Family-friendly, “The Aluminum Show” welcomes everyone to tag along on their magical voyage.
The mundane becomes magical when household items are center stage for one night only. Downtown Olympia has never been so sparkly thanks to world-renowned puppeteers, creative artists galore and plenty of, you guessed it, aluminum.
Yup, It’s All Aluminum…Just Like You’ve Got at Home
“We always keep hearing from audience members that they never imagined how can a whole world be crated from air conditioner tubes, kitchen foil and ordinary daily use materials,” says Lida. Harder still, when they tour that world must be set-up, torn down and transported at each stop.
Lida says their team has years of experience from performing globally. “They have developed methods to set up the show efficiently with the assistance of local crews,” Lida explains. “With proper and careful tech preparation our technical manager studies each venue’s specifications and plans our show accordingly to ensure fast and safe set up of the show.” Prep typically takes seven hours for each new location and that’s just the beforehand work.
The tubes and foil seemingly come to life as performers manipulate these materials with extraordinary precision. Audience participation is woven into the fabric of the performance resulting in rave reviews from attendees and media outlets alike.

Keep the Magic Alive through Christmas and into 2025
With “The Aluminum Show,” the Washington Center is keeping magic alive this holiday season. From their varied performances of “The Nutcracker” to “A Magical Cirque Christmas” with two shows on December 29, audiences will be swept away by the classically beautiful and mystically breathtaking. “The Aluminum Show” brings some quirky and odd while “The Pack Drumline” showcases urban beats. Rounding out the month of January you’ll find comedy, Irish dance and so much more. February showcases classics new and old. From Broadway’s stage “Dear Evan Hansen” gives way to “Spamilton: An American Parody” of the beloved rap-tastic fan favorite.
Check out the season at a glance for everything from silent movies to “Menopause the Musical 2: Cruising through the Change.” Shows run through the end of June 2025 before we kick off the new season in the fall.
