Halloween memories tend to be some of the strongest for kids, and why not? You get to dress up as your favorite hero, animal, character, etc., then get free candy! I remember one year my mom made me a dog costume. It was brown. I had a huge bone almost as big as me that I carried around and one of those 80’s rubbery masks of a droopy-eared dog that made it hard to see or breathe. I also remember it poured that year. It was not trick-or-treat weather. Lucky for us, our mall where we lived offered indoor trick-or-treating. I remember I stayed warm and dry, and got lots of candy. Lucky for you, Capital Mall carries on this tradition every year with indoor trick-or-treat in Olympia on Halloween night!

Trick-or-Treat in Olympia at Capital Mall

It can be hard to plan costumes if you are unsure about the weather, and the Pacific Northwest is known for throwing shade on Halloween. It can be pouring rain or blistering hot! Trick-or-treating in Olympia at the Capital Mall allows you to not worry about the weather and just have fun as a family.

Capital Mall’s indoor trick-or-treating is October 31, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The entire family is welcome to come in costume and enjoy the evening. Trick-or-treat at participating businesses, just look for the sign! The temperature-controlled atmosphere means your little one won’t have to stop early because they are too cold or hot. Lighting means you and your kids can feel safe.

No full-face masks or fake weapons are allowed. Dogs are welcome – and they can wear costumes too – just remember that not all stores are dog friendly and the mall is very crowded, which may make it hard to navigate for the four-legged family members. While you are welcome to come to the mall in costumer before the event, trick-or-treating will not start until 5 p.m.

Halloween should be a night of thrills, with shrieks of delight from kids, not crying because they are too cold or too hot, scared of the dark or have soggy candy – now that would be a true nightmare! So, head to the Capital Mall for trick-or-treating on Halloween night and make precious memories that will last a lot longer than the candy.
