The Oly Town Artesians announced February 2 spring USL trials for both men and women. Spring tryout formats are by application only and athletes will be called back if they meet club parameters. The USL W League tryout for women is slated for Sunday March 19th. USL League Two tryouts for men is scheduled for April 1 and April 2. Both tryouts will be held in Olympia, WA.

Tryout information can be found on the Oly Town website and on our social media pages.

The Artesian USL side of the club is also seeking host families for the 2023 late spring and early summer months. USL path to professional leagues consist of traveling collegiate and pro players that need a single room to sleep in as they work during the day and train in the morning and evening.

Oly Town is offering a comprehensive fan package to those Thurston County families interested in housing a player including season tickets, fan gear, gift cards to local restaurants and more. Access to food is not needed but encouraged and a car is not required as most athletes will utilize public transportation. Background checks and a club manager will be appointed to each family and athlete. The time frame for athletes needing a room would be May to July 2023.

“Bringing in elite athletes from around the nation allows the club the opportunity to compete at the appropriate USL Soccer level which winning is a priority” said Principal Owner Ryan Perkins. “It also provides athletes a shot at participating in one of the worlds top path to professional leagues.”

Lane United of Eugene, Oregon competes in the USL League Two and USL W League for the NW Division and in summer 2022 helped send multiple college players to the MLS (Major League Soccer). These athletes competed just this last summer in Olympia against the Artesians. These USL path to professional leagues allow division one through division three athletes, including NAIA the opportunity to compete at the highest level of path to professional soccer for three months and not disrupt their amateur status. Lane United has host families for its players from their Eugene, OR communities and fanbase.

Those interested in housing a player or more can visit the Oly Town FC website and review the welcome letter, benefits and form submission at the bottom of the page.

Schedule for the USL W League and USL League Two releases in mid-February so make sure and follow Oly Town on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for live updates.
