The Eatonville High School top-ranked boys football team, visited the Tenino High School Beavers Friday, September 30 and prevailed 27-22 in a back and forth 1A Football match in Tenino to start 1A WIAA Evergreen Conference play.

Eatonville Cruiser quarterback Job Kralik scored the winning touchdown with eight minutes in the game and helped stop a possible winning drive by the Beavers to keep Eatonville (5-0, 1-0 EVG 1A) undefeated on the season.

Tenino (4-1, 1-1 EVG 1A) fought hard. Six-two senior running back Dylan Spicer led all rushers with 242 yards.

Eatonville running back Dylan Norman had 153 yards on the night and was complimented by 138 rushing yards from Cruiser QB Joe Kralik.

Eatonville head coach Gavin Kralik was proud of how his team finished the game. “Hats off to Tenino, as they fought hard, and they really execute their system well and make it hard for us especially if your eyes get lost,” stated Kralik.  “We have some great teams in the Evergreen 1A and it was a great win for us and we are thankful to get a quality road win tonight.”

Cary Nagel, head coach for Tenino, had complementary comments on the Cruiser team and coaching staff. “They are a very well coached team and unfortunately we put the ball on the ground a few times,” said Nagel. “You have to give credit to Eatonville as they played great. Our guys wanted it, prepared well, but the ball just bounced the wrong way and we will clean up some things moving forward.”

Eatonville hosts Montesano next week.

Tenino travels to Hoquiam next week for a game at Olympic Stadium at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 7.
