The Thurston Economic Development Council (EDC) has named Heidi McCutcheon as Operations Director.

The Operations Director is a critical leadership position at the EDC. In her role, McCutcheon will focus on implementing the EDC’s mission:

  • Providing businesses with technical help
  • Recruiting investment
  • Expanding markets

McCutcheon served for 12 years as President & CEO of the Shelton-Mason Chamber of Commerce. While there, she was a tireless champion for business development and a robust economy. In 2017, the Business Examiner named McCutcheon a “40 under 40” honoree. This award recognized her leadership and vision.

McCutcheon has served on several boards and committees, including

  • Western Association of Chamber Executives
  • Washington Association of Chamber Executives
  • ESD 113 Capital STEM Alliance Steering Committee
  • Olympic Peninsula Tourism Board
  • Mason General Hospital Foundation Board
  • along with several other community building boards.

McCutcheon will assume her position as Director of Operation on October 5, 2022.

The Thurston EDC’s search for Operations Director was a 10-month process.
