After an in-depth hiring process conducted by Interim Police Chief John Hutchings, Tenino Mayor Wayne Fournier is pleased to announce the selection of Robert (Bobby) Auderer, as Tenino’s newest Police Chief.  Chief Auderer will take office after the City Council confirms his appointment at the next held Tenino City Council meeting. Auderer comes to Tenino from the Nisqually Tribal PD after having served a long Law Enforcement Career in various capacities and brings a tremendous amount of background and training in Commercial Vehicle enforcement, something the City of Tenino has been wanting to focus on for many years.

The Chief of Police testing process involved a formal interview in front of a panel of community members and an informal get together with current police department employees and an interview with the mayor.

An in-depth background investigation (BI) was completed on Auderer the week of December 20. The thorough BI includes numerous personal reference checks, medical exam, polygraph test and a psychological assessment.  Each has been successfully completed.

Bobby says he is excited to start and get to know the department, citizens and community.

The Mayor provided this statement to the Police Department; “I am very much looking forward to welcoming Chief Auderer to Tenino and seeing what his leadership will bring to our team, I believe he will be a great fit for Tenino. I am also very pleased with the extensive and thorough hiring process Interim Chief Hutchings has provided us, his leadership and administration over the past several months has been critical and John has once again served our community in an exemplary fashion.”

Please introduce yourself to the New Chief if you see him out and follow the Tenino Police Department on Facebook for updates and opportunities to learn more about what is going on in your Police Department.
