On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and 4th Avenue, in the Diamond Parking lot in front of the Mount Rainier mural, “Boomer” joined the downtown Olympia landscape as a temporary public art installation.

Boomer is an eight-foot tall moose made entirely of discarded scrap metal and parts. Originally constructed as a playful project and general source of amusement for artist Scrapper Pat, Boomer gained attention and soon became the focus of a public art installation project to help draw people to the area as they are engaging downtown Olympia this holiday season.

This new public art installation will be in place through January 7, 2022, so be sure to stop by and snap a pic of Boomer, the red-nosed moose, while in Olympia, downtown for the holidays.
