Ever year the City performs a variety of preventative pavement maintenanceto sustain a higher level of performance and delay the need for complete roadway rehabilitation. As part of the City of Lacey’s 2021 street overlay program, major road construction will take place on Orion Drive NE, between Willamette Drive NE to just north of the Orion/Meridian roundabout from 7 a.m., Wednesday, June 30 to 7 a.m., Saturday, July 17. Travelers can expect delays and detours at times during this work. Alternate routes are recommended.
Tentative Schedule: Most of this work is weather-dependent and subject to change. Watch for updates on the City’s website, and Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Wednesday, June 30 – Thursday, July 8, weekdays
Most of the work will occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Contractors will begin preparing the project area for grinding and paving. Travelers can expect delays and should allow for extra time when traveling through this area. Alternate routes are recommended.
Thursday, July 8 – Friday, July 9; and Tuesday, July 13 – Friday, July 16
Work will take place during overnight hours from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Contractors will grind and re-pave the roadway. During this work, the road will be open for local access only. Detours will be posted.
During nighttime closures, flaggers at both ends of the corridor will stop all vehicles and only allow traffic through for access to Home Depot and Fastenal. Through traffic will not be allowed.
Striping of the roadway will take place at a later date.
