Meet Romey! He is a 4-year-old, 77-pound, American bulldog who loves to be with his person. Listed characteristics are: active, big and velcro! He has shown a preference for men but loves most everyone he meets while out on walks or just meeting new shelter staff member. Romey will make a great companion dog and would enjoy a family with children who are 13 or over, sturdy and kind.
Romey is a big boy who just wants to please and cuddle. While strong on leash he has very lovely manners. He knows a few commands such as sit, stay, down, and shake. He really likes to “sit pretty” on his back legs and give hugs to his person. Kisses are one of his favorites too.
While he did not grow up with many dog social experiences, he did well in a foster with an English bulldog. He is an enthusiastic greeter and would probably do best in a home with a female dog of similar size. He has a strict “NO CATS” policy though neither indoor or outdoor.
Romey is going to need an engaging family that will give him lots of love and attention with a securely sturdy fenced yard. Romey has shown signs of separation anxiety and would benefit from positive reinforcement training and a person who is home a lot. He is treat motivated!
