Starting this week, the WET Science Center is sharing science activities on our website page Rediscovering Science. Science is all around us! While some people work in science as their job, everyone thinks like a scientist. Science begins with curiosity; we all observe the world around us and ask questions from a very young age.

Join us this week for Think Like a Scientist! We will be featuring activities that make us go “Why does that happen?” or “I hypothesize…” At home we can wonder why a plant grows in a certain spot or test what happens if we put it where there is more sunlight. We can wonder why pavement is hot in the sun, but grass feels cooler. We can observe, hypothesize, experiment, and ask more questions anywhere! LOTT Clean Water Alliance has many wastewater scientists. We’ll feature our favorite scientists that inspire us to ask questions on our Facebook page.

Our Featured Activity encourages you to go outside and ask questions, then imagine the tools you would need to answer your questions. All scientists need tools! If you wondered how fast a plant grows, what tool would you use?

Send us a picture or copy of your completed activity to receive a prize from the WET Science Center and get entered into a raffle to win a Squishy Circuit set!

WET Science Center Activity Packets!

Have you seen one of these lines in your area? We have community resource spots popping up all over. Grab yourself a Liquid Awesome activity book, water tracker, and At-Home bingo game. If you live in Lacey, Olympia, or Tumwater and are interested in sharing our packets, email info@wetsciencecenter.org.

Keep up the great home learning!
