Thurston County traffic: If the weather cooperates, crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close the busy Marvin Road on-ramp to southbound I-5 and reduce southbound Marvin Road approaching the overpass to one lane.

9:00 a.m. Monday, May 11 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14

  • Marvin Road on-ramp to southbound I-5 will close.
  • Southbound Marvin Road will be reduced to one-lane.

The weekday around-the-clock ramp and lane closures will allow crews to rebuild the on-ramp. This is a key phase of the project. Crews cannot advance the work until this is complete.

Even as traffic volumes are reduced as we all follow the governor’s Stay Home, Stay Healthy order, we’re going to need your help.

  • If you use the Marvin Road on-ramp to southbound I-5, allow extra time to travel the detour route.
  • Travel early in the morning or later in the evening.

We also thank you in advance for your flexibility. This around-the-clock weekday closure is weather-dependent and could be rescheduled. We’ll get out word if the schedule changes.
