Even the COVID-19 pandemic can’t force total isolation. It can’t stop communities from pulling together. And it can’t stop people from pouring their hearts into service to others. In fact, if anything, this crisis has given us an even greater need and desire to pull together.

She Can Clean has been donating cleaning services to local cancer patients for the past six months through their partnership with the nonprofit organization Cleaning for a Reason. In that time, She Can Clean has supported seven cancer patients, with a donated value of $1,913 in cleanings.

She Can Clean owners Jasmine and Ryan Gremling want to bring heightened awareness of the cause to the area during Cleaning for a Reason Week, April 18-24. The goal is to help more households battling any type of cancer to receive the gift of a clean home.

“Cleaning for a Reason is a way for She Can Clean to give back to our community by doing what we do best—helping others,” says Jasmine Gremling. “Cleaning for cancer patients brings importance and value to the work we do and our staff always feel so great about making a difference in someone’s life. Everyone deserves the comfort and joy of a clean living space.”

During the current COVID-19 pandemic, many are scrambling to pick up the pieces of their lives—and some are finding the key to wholeness is simply continued service in the face of adversity. She Can Clean is continuing strong with their commitment to serve the brokenhearted.

Ryan Gremling emphasized, “During this COVID-19 crisis, we are taking extra measures to keep everyone safe, especially the cancer patients. Our company follows CDC protocols of wearing face masks, washing hands, and changing gloves between tasks—using EPA approved products and practicing social distancing when cleaning.”

Through partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, She Can Clean supports two homes per month for two consecutive months free of charge. This is an ongoing service to cancer patients residing in Thurston County.

Reflecting on why they do this, Jasmine Gremling said: “We all have talents and its important to give back to others—especially in times of crisis.”

She Can Clean is currently serving one cancer patient and has room for one more. If you or a loved one is a cancer patient and would like free cleaning, please reach out to She Can Clean.
