Submitted by Providence Medical Group

Out of an abundance of caution, Providence St. Peter and Providence Centralia Hospitals have cancelled until further notice all public meetings (including support groups) within the hospitals, and are asking the public to limit visiting the hospitals. The intent of these restrictions is to do everything we can to keep people healthy – our patients, caregivers (employees), families and hospital visitors.

  • We are asking the public to limit visits and the number of visitors coming into the hospitals. Please limit the number of times you are visiting a patient, only make necessary visits.
  • The intent is to discourage large groups of people from being in our waiting rooms, cafeterias or other public areas of the hospital.
  • We highly encourage visitors to be either members of the immediate family (primarily spouses, partners or individuals age 18 or older).
  • In our family birth centers (maternity, labor and delivery, postpartum and neonatal intensive care), pediatrics, and in intensive care units, all visitors must be age 18 or older.

 If you are a patient:

  • If you have respiratory symptoms, masks will be available when you check in.
  • Hospital staff may wear gowns, masks, and gloves and take other precautions to prevent viruses from being spread between patients.

 If you are a visitor:

  • Please limit your visits and the number of visitors, and only make necessary visits. Please remember to perform hand hygiene when entering the hospital.
  • If you have a fever, cough, runny or stuffy nose, or sore throat – stay home.
  • Make sure to cover your mouth with a tissue and then throw it away when coughing or sneezing.  If you do not have a tissue, cough into your elbow.
  • Wash or gel your hands frequently, especially when you enter and leave a patient room.

Thank you for your help and support as we work together to keep our patients, caregivers, families and visitors safe and healthy.
