May 1- 15, 2020 schools across Thurston County will participate in the School Bike Challenge (SBC) which is part of the Thurston County Bicycle Commuter Challenge (BCC). Every year we try to increase youth participation in the BCC by partnering with schools. Students are encouraged to get physical activity by riding their bike for transportation. We provide schools with posters, prizes, and mileage logs. Schools are responsible for promoting the event, handing-out and collecting mileage logs, and awarding prizes.

National Bike to School Day

On May 6, 2020 schools across the country will come together to celebrate biking to school. Student who ride their bike are greeted and congratulated by school staff, parents, and community members. All students who participate win a small prize. This event is a great way to encourage physical activity and build community around your school. Walk N Roll provides posters and prizes for the event. Schools are responsible for promoting the event, handing out prizes, and counting the number of participants.

These events can be organized by teachers, school staff or parent volunteers. If your school is interested in participating in one or both of these events, please contact walknroll@intercitytransit.com by March 31, 2020.
