The Sexual Assault Clinic and partners with the Monarch Children’s Justice & Advocacy Center provide support to those who call in. For example, child protection services or law enforcement will call in with a concern and gather the data and information provided, then the clinic does more investigation on the given situations before seeing the patient.  Providence’s Sexual Assault Clinic is backed by a team of trained professionals who know how to work with victims of all ages; medical providers, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and medical social workers to provide beginning to end support services to caregivers or parents, and children in need.

Dr. Gilbert says the clinic is basically a one stop care facility for children in need, with full support from all types of care giving, “Children were getting scattered care from many areas within their community, we have one area where they come; a very child-friendly environment. One of the things that makes our environment so wonderful, is that we have a facility dog…his name is Astro, and Astro can help in every step of a child’s interactions with us.”
