Thurston County Traffic: Weekend-long Closure of Marvin Road Overpass in Lacey

Travelers who use the Marvin Road overpass (State Route 510) in Lacey will need give themselves extra time and use alternative routes during this weekend’s around-the-clock closure.

10:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, until 5:00 a.m. Monday, September 30

  • Marvin Road overpass and northbound exit to Marvin Road will close.
  • Northbound I-5 exit to Quinault Drive will remain open.

Travelers are advised to plan for lengthy delays and added congestion as drivers detour around the overpass closure. Drivers can detour using Exit 114 in Nisqually or Exit 109 at Martin Way East.

Businesses remain open and accessible during the closure.

The weekend work allow crews to rebuild the Marvin Road on-ramp to northbound Interstate 5. The work is part of continuing efforts to convert the existing overpass into a diverging diamond interchange.
