A closure order will take place for the Falls View Campground and Falls View Trail #848 and Falls View Canyon Trail #868 from June 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019.
Laminated root rot was found in the area last year and the campground was closed at that time. The Falls View Timber sale is now scheduled and will begin removal of affected trees. Visitors are prohibited from entering the area during the closure period.
Lake Cushman Restrictions
Managers of the Olympic National Forest are notifying members of the public of use restrictions along the Lake Cushman corridor. The restrictions listed below are for public safety and resource protection.
For public safety reasons, overnight camping from 10 pm to 6 am, is prohibited along Forest Road 24 and 2451, along the Lake Cushman corridor. Parking or leaving a vehicle along that section from 10 pm and 6 am is also prohibited.
No fires are allowed in that area at any time, except for self-contained gas stoves.
Visitors to the Lake Cushman area are welcome to recreate responsibly and are reminded that there is heavy traffic in that area and drivers should use situational awareness.
