Currently there are no dedicated off-leash dog areas in Olympia’s park system. To respond to high demand for these areas, Olympia Parks, Arts & Recreation has developed concept plans for three sites of varying sizes that are located in different areas of Olympia.
Open House on April 1
Olympia Parks, Arts & Recreation will hold a public open house to gather feedback on three potential sites for off-leash dog areas in Olympia. Sites include: Evergreen Park, Ward Lake Park, and property next to McLane Elementary. Ideally, all three sites could be installed. View concept plans at olympiawa.gov/dogparks.

When: Monday, April 1, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (short presentation at 5:45 p.m.)

Mountain Bike Trails are Coming to Olympia
The City of Olympia Parks Department is in the planning process to build mountain bike trails at Kaiser Woods Park (4300 Park DR SW) in Southwest Olympia. These will be the first dedicated mountain bike trails in the City Park system.
For this project, we are trying out a new format for public engagement. We have moved the information and input process online so you can participate at a time that is convenient for you. Please go to olympiawa.gov/bikepark and click the “Bike Park Presentation & Survey” button. You will need to register to participate. Watch the video presentation and then take the survey to provide your feedback. There will also be an opportunity to provide a name suggestion for this park. The survey will close end-of-day on Sunday, April 14. We are excited to bring mountain bike trails to Olympia and look forward to hearing from you!
