Busy elves throughout Olympia are preparing for the  Annual ‘Downtown for the Holidays’ which will take place the Sunday after Thanksgiving, November 25.

What’s on the calendar this year?

10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Hotel Olympian, 116 Legion Way SE (A photographer will provide photos for purchase by request, but not a prerequisite to slip Santa your wish list.)
10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., & 1:30 p.m. Illuminate Presents “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”: Come watch as The Who’s down in Whoville Recall the Christmas that the Grinch’s heart was three sizes too small!; and Apple Tree Productions children’s theater presents a preview of their December program.
11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Explore the Gingerbread Village 2018 at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts. The Gingerbread Village is a community favorite. Thousands of visitors each year come to see a stunning variety of gingerbread house and castle designs, created by teams of local bakers and artists. View and vote ($1 per vote) on one-of-a-kind creations to benefit SideWalk’s mission to end homelessness in Thurston County.
12 p.m., Put on your Skates! Oly on Ice Grand Opening! Enjoy special guest presentations, live music, & more!
1:15 p.m., Alleluia! Handbell Ensemble at Batdorf & Bronson, 516 Capitol Way S, Olympia
3 p.m. Jingle Bell Parade. The route begins at Capitol Lake and ends at Sylvester Park.  The best viewing is at the Governor’s Hotel at Sylvester Park to hear commentary by parade emcee Mixx96.1 personality Ty Flint.
4 p.m. Tree Lighting at Sylvester Park, Sponsored by US Bank, with Live Music at Sylvester Park with help by students from Washington Middle School

WHAT: Downtown for the Holidays
WHEN: Sunday, November 25, 2018. Activities run from 10 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.
WHO: Brought to the community by the Olympia Downtown Alliance, the City of Olympia, The Parking & Business Improvement Area (PBIA) and the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.
