Thrive Community Fitness of Lacey held their 6th annual 5k Freedom Run Saturday in Lacey. Over 130 people participated in the 5k run and kids run. Paul and Debbie MacLurg, owners of Thrive, work with community sponsors to hold the run, which supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County. “We will raise over $3,000 to help Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County,” says Steve Singer, Thrive manager.
“It is a great way to connect with the community and support part of our core value here at Thrive – to love and serve our community members,” Paul adds.
Shellica Trevino, director of operations for the Boys & Girls Clubs, helped with the run, along with teens from the program. “We are grateful for the support from the community,” she says. “Because of sponsors like Thrive we are able to changes lives every day.”
The Boys and Girls Clubs helps support over 700 children in after school programs in Thurston County.
