The undefeated Lacey Pocket Gophers celebrate their league-leading winning streak back to North Thurston High School’s South Sound Stadium this Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

The first 500 fans through the door receive a FREE “gopher head” hacky sack (doors open 1 hour prior to kick). The Thurston County Sheriff’s Honor Guard will be providing opening ceremonies and ThurstonTalk’s Martin McElliott will be singing the national anthem.

“We’ve had fun all season long with great crowds watching our team dominate the Western Washington Premiere League,” said Pocket Gopher President/Chairman Troy Kirby. “Our environment is second-to-none in the South Puget Sound area, which is why people keep coming back match after match.”

The Pocket Gophers are also one of the league and area leaders for attendance for soccer matches in 2018.

“We don’t subscribe to the idea of silent soccer,” Kirby said. “When you come to one of our matches, we bring the music and noise along with it. The entire experience is a community builder for us.”

The Lacey Pocket Gophers are in a dead-heat for first place in the Western Washington Premiere League, with only a few weeks to go to decide to league champion. The Pocket Gophers have outscored their opponents 23-5 in 2018, including winning all three home matches by a score of 13-3.

“It’s great to see how much talent is in this area, waiting to be showcased for the next level,” Kirby said.
