Calmness. Relaxation. Earthy. Sagey. These are some of the words that may come to mind when you think of Lavender. Just ask Peggy at the Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm, now open for the season through Mid-August.

  • Wondering what the difference is between the 11 varieties the farm grows? Ask Peggy.
  • Curious about how her husband creates the lotions and oils they sell in their gift shop from their home-grown lavender? Ask Peggy.
  • Surprised by the white buds growing on the same bush as amethyst-hued ones? Ask Peggy.
  • Wanting to know which variety is best for culinary? Drying? Or making oils? Ask Peggy.

Peggy is the friendly queen of this incredible purple-hued kingdom and she is more than ready to give you a tour and answer any questions. After which, she will leave you to wander the grounds, sit in a violet Adirondack chair and listen to the bees, or cut fresh lavender to take home. Purple shades in all directions make snapping a gorgeous photo a breeze. Little ones can don purple fairy wings (available in the gift shop) and learn about the care of this versatile plant.

Visit Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm Thursday – Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. mid-June through Mid-August. 9733 Evergreen Valley Rd. SE, Olympia.
