South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) welcomes professor Kip Fulbeck to close out the 2017-18 Artist & Lecture Series season.  Fulbeck’s lecture, a powerful message surrounding multiracial identities, will be held at the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.

Kip Fulbeck is a pioneering artist, spoken work performer, and filmmaker.  Recipient of the UCSB Distinguished Teaching Award, he is also the author of several books. Fulbeck created The Hapa Project, which was awarded the inaugural Loving Prize at the Mixed Roots Film and Literary Festival.

Fulbeck will hold a workshop and question-and-answer for SPSCC students on Thursday afternoon in the Writing Center of Learning Support Services.  “Exploring Identity Through Writing” will discuss the challenges and benefits of exploring identity through writing and will touch on the creative writing process when addressing multicultural identities.

Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. lecture are available for $10 through the box office at The Washington Center for Performing Arts.
