Small cities are unique.  It’s the personal and close-knit nature of small communities that make them the historical and cultural bedrock of American life. But operating a small town isn’t easy.  The City of Tenino is excited to share an opportunity for organizations to team up with the City to promote themselves and show appreciation for their clients, friends, and employees.

The Tenino Quarry is now home to a popular summer swimming hole.

“The Quarry Pool is, almost literally, the bedrock of Tenino,” says Mayor Wayne Fournier.  “Talk to anyone from around here and ask them what they like best about the City and, while you’ll hear a variety of things, one thing that everyone agrees about is that the Quarry Pool is in the top three and no one here can imagine the City without it.”

But keeping the pool open is a fiscal challenge; it historically loses money.  With grant monies being limited and tax increases highly unlikely, the City has been investigating alternative ways of raising revenues.  Fournier says it just him one day:  “It occurred to me that there might be some businesses out there who would consider sponsoring a day at the pool in exchange for advertising and promotion.  Our Park, and the Quarry Pool,  are regional attractions; it just makes sense to seek additional ways to promote it in order to help defray costs.”

The City of Tenino has created the opportunity for its renowned Quarry Pool to be sponsored for the day. Organizations now have the opportunity to place a banner on our front gate and have the pool named in their honor for the day.  Additional space could be made available for information and marketing materials. The fee to sponsor a day at the pool is $1,000 for Corporate entities or $800 for Non-Profits;  this will cover all gate fee’s for the day, making an organization the talk of the town.

Tenino’s Quarry Pool is open Wednesdays through Sundays, from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m.  For additional details, please visit the City of Tenino website.
