The Evergreen Premier League’s all-time leading scorer scored once in the third minute, again in the 20th, added another in the 74th, and once more in the 88th to lead the first place Seattle Stars to a 6-1 victory over the Oly Town Artesians on Saturday evening at French Field in Kent.

Bjork scored his 42nd goal of his four year EPLWA career early on a sprint down the left side with a shot along the ground that just caught Artesians goalkeeper JJ Olson on a weird angle and squeaked behind him. He then scored his 43rd goal 17 minutes later on a play that looked to the Artesians defense and bench to have been offside. The refs didn’t grant the call and Bjork poked it home to make it 2-0 Stars. MIles Sanchez then put the Stars up 3-0 in the 31st minute with a point blank header off of a rebound of a shot that hit the crossbar in front of him.

Oly Town showed some life early in the second half when Kyle Wiese drew a penalty and Surafel Wodajo buried the penalty kick to cut the deficit to two goals. The two teams played even ball for the next twenty minutes before Mamadue Leigh just barely got the top of his head on a corner kick to slightly change the flight of the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 4-1.

Bjork finished the Artesians off with two more goals, one in the 74th minute and another in the 88th to give him four in the game and 45 in his career. Seattle improved to 6-1-1 with 19 points to extend their lead in the EPLWA to six points over second place Bellingham.

The Artesians fell to 2-4-1 with seven points at the halfway point of the season. They have next weekend off but return to action on Tuesday, June 27 with a road trip to Ridgefield to take on the Vancouver Victory. They return home on Tuesday, July 11 at 7:00 p.m. against the same Victory squad.
