The Triad Arts Theater is excited to announce the reopening of The Triad Arts Theater Gallery. The historic occasion will be commemorated with a new show entitled, “We Heart Art.” The show is a broad representation of artistic expression showcasing the local area’s many talented artists, poets and musicians.
Community members are invited to attend a special gallery opening which will take place on June 16 at The Triad Arts Theater Gallery, 102 E. Yelm Ave in Yelm Washington. The event will open with a gallery preview at 4:00 p.m. followed by a gala from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Attendees will enjoy a mix of eclectic art, poetry and music; the companionship of fellow art lovers and a sampling of light hors d’oeuvres.
The reopening of The Triad Arts Theater Gallery and the accompanying show are a momentous event for the theater and local community alike. “We heart art,” said Owner and Director of Arts, Cameron Jayne. “We’re having this beautiful gallery opening because it’s celebrating the incredible talent that exists in the Yelm community and the outer Yelm region. We have in the Puget Sound area the finest artists and musicians that money or soul or heart can ever buy.”
The Yelm area has been evolving into a blossoming art community over the last decade. Increasing numbers of artists, artisans and performers are now calling the area home and the town is blossoming creatively as a result. “I would like to say that having my own gallery in Baja, California, and a music venue in Las Vegas, Nevada, that had the finest musicians and performers – by far this Yelm community is like the Paris of the 18th century,” Jayne said. “I swear to God, these are the most incredible artists that you will ever see because they not only have a way to communicate their emotions but they resonate their frequency with paint and color. There’s passion to what they put in their presentations and there is a lot of consciousness and high thought in their work as well.”
Despite Yelm’s burgeoning artistic population, there has been a lack of artistic representation until now. “In this area there are no art galleries that represent these people and they need to have a home, a sanctuary that showcases what they do,” Jayne said. “The Triad Theater is that home.”
“We Heart Art” will be on display at The Triad Arts Theater Gallery from June 16 through July 2 on weekends from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and weeknights during Triad events. “We Heart Art” is the first in a three-exhibit series celebrating the he(art) of our local community. The Triad aims to nurture an organized art community through the revitalization of the gallery. As a result, this artistic community will serve to enhance and expand the representation of quality art in Yelm.
