Former Seattle Seahawk Ricardo Lockette will deliver the keynote speech at the Combined Fund Drive’s sold-out annual Leadership Breakfast Thursday May 11 at the Hotel RL in Olympia.

The breakfast starts at 8:00 a.m. in the hotel’s Forest Ballroom. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. and media are invited to attend.

Lockette was a wide receiver and special teams standout for the Seahawks for parts of three seasons until he suffered a career-ending neck injury in a 2015 game at Dallas. Sinceretiring from football, Lockette has become a motivational speaker.

“Ricardo has a really uplifting perspective to share and we’re excited to have him as our keynote speaker,” said Secretary of State Kim Wyman, whose office oversees the Combined Fund Drive. “The breakfast is a great way to thank agencies’ CFD coordinators and volunteers for their terrific work and to let them know how important their role is in encouraging more public employees to give to the CFD.”

Wyman will not be attending the event in person, however she has recorded a video thanking attendees for coming and for their support of the CFD, the state’s charitable giving program for current and retired state employees. The event also features two speakers representing charities that receive donations through the CFD.

Washington’s Office of Secretary of State oversees a number of areas within state government, including managing state elections, regulating corporations and charities, and governing the use of the state flag and state seal. The office also manages the State Archives and the State Library, as well as documenting extraordinary stories in Washington’s history through Legacy Washington.
