In August, Leadership Thurston County and the Thurston Chamber Foundation welcomed new Program Coordinator Alisha Blain. Blain moved over to LTC after almost nine years as the events coordinator at the Thurston County Chamber.
Born and raised in Thurston County, Blain is a 2003 graduate of Yelm High School and attended Central Washington University where she majored in Public Relations and was actively involved in leadership and program planning associations (RHA and NRHH).
Having been a member of cheer & dance teams for most of her life, Blain is in her sixth year of coaching the North Thurston High School Glamour Rams Dance Team in Lacey.
When she isn’t coaching or planning the next LTC Challenge Day, she is a Middle Level leadership camp counselor, Camp Columbia, and certified low & high challenge course facilitator at Cispus Learning Center in Randle, WA.
Blain takes the position from Judy Reynolds who left LTC to start her own business.
The purpose of Leadership Thurston County (LTC) is to develop informed, skilled and committed community leadership representative of the area’s diverse citizens. The program is designed to assist each participant in acquiring a broad understanding of the complex issues facing the South Puget Sound region and in building relationships that will facilitate collaborative efforts to resolve today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.
Leadership Thurston County is a program if the Chamber Foundation, a 501(c) 3 organization, has six programs—each a result of community investment in education—Find Your Future, Leadership Thurston County, Math For Life, the Small Business Incubator, Thurston Thrives and Business 2 Youth Connect.
