2016 Men’s Soccer Schedule Announced

Saint Martin’s University men’s soccer team will play seven regular-season home games and three scrimmages to open the 2016 schedule announced today by Director of Soccer Rob Walker.

The Saints will play three scrimmages starting on August 19 at 1:00 p.m. against The Evergreen State College, will face Pacific Lutheran at 3:00 p.m. on August 26 and see Southern Oregon on August 28 at Noon and the men will also play the Alumni on Sunday, August 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the SMU Soccer Field.

SMU will open the regular season on the road against No. 24 California State University Los Angeles on September 1 at 12:30 p.m.  Cal State L.A. finished 12-5-3 overall last season.

The first home game will be played on September 8 at 1:00 p.m. against Notre Dame de Namur and SMU will open the Great Northwest Athletic Conference play with four games at home starting on September 22 against Western Washington at 3:00 p.m.

The first GNAC road contest will be October 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Concordia and then SMU will face Seattle Pacific at 7:00 p.m. in Seattle. The Falcons are the two-time defending GNAC Champions and rank No. 11 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division II preseason poll.

SMU will celebrate its seniors on October 29 at 3:15 p.m. against the Falcons and will close out the regular season on the road against Northwest Nazarene on November 5.
