SCJ Alliance (SCJ), in partnership with Jeffrey B. Glander & Associates (JGA), is pleased to announce the combining of the two firms.

“We’re delighted to have Jeff and his talented team join SCJ. It’s a tremendous opportunity for both firms,” says SCJ President Perry Shea. SCJ is a Northwest consulting company, headquartered in Lacey. They specialize in transportation planning and design, civil engineering, environmental and urban planning, landscape architecture and design, and public outreach.

Jeff Glander, owner of the 28-year-old landscape design and architecture firm, is equally pleased. “This is the right move for many reasons, including benefits our clients will see, as well as opportunities for my firm’s employees,” said Glander.

Glander and SCJ team members have been working collaboratively on joint projects since 1992. “We have a great working relationship and shared values… including being client centered, treasuring our employees, providing exceptional service, and taking pride in quality work,” said Shea.

Both Shea and Glander say incorporating a design component at an earlier stage in a project is a huge benefit to clients. “It advances creative solutions at the beginning of a project through all phases of planning, engineering and implementation,” Shea said. Glander added, “We’ve been enjoying a robust workload and this move will further expand services for JGA’s existing clients, including in-house planning, civil and traffic engineering.”

Glander client types span education, commercial, institutional, healthcare, recreational and residential. Projects SCJ and Glander have teamed on in Thurston County include the Saint Martin’s University Courtyard, the Garfield Elementary School expansion, and elements of Briggs Village. Additionally, Glander team members are providing design and architecture services for a number of new WinCo Foods stores across the western United States, for which SCJ is responsible for site development services.

Over the coming months, the four Glander landscape architects will move into the Lacey SCJ office, which is currently home to about 50 employees. “They will join SCJ’s existing Landscape Architecture group, which has studios in Seattle and Wenatchee,” said Shea. He said those locations are also seeing an increased demand for services, where landscape architects design for everything from parks and trailheads, to resorts and high-end residential homes, to public works projects.

Since its founding 10 years ago, SCJ has grown steadily from three employees in one location, to nearly 70 employees in five locations. In addition to the Lacey headquarters, SCJ has offices in Seattle, Wenatchee and Vancouver, WA, as well as Denver, Colorado.
