“Donors trust us to be knowledgeable regarding our community’s current and evolving needs.  They also know us to be good stewards of their contributed funds.”  The Community Foundation currently holds 91 separate funds for individuals, nonprofit agencies and businesses pursuing their respective charitable goals.

“These grants represents the broad range of interests supported by our discretionary grants committee which distributes unrestricted donor funds,” continues Schuiteman.  “A community foundation’s unique value lies in its ability to support a myriad of community interests.”

The Thurston County grants were among $483,650 the Community Foundation distributed at the end of 2015.  Grants were made to nonprofit organizations in Thurston, Lewis, Mason and counties.
