The public is invited to provide input online to help shape downtown Olympia’s future. The survey is part of a public process to form a Downtown Strategy that will outline what steps we take over the next 5-6 years to move our community’s vision and goals for downtown forward.
The survey can be taken online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/DTS1 now through January 17, 2016. Input will help shape various land use and urban design alternatives that will be presented to the public for feedback in February.
This marks the beginning of Stage 2 in a 5-stage process to form Olympia’s Downtown Strategy. In this stage, public input along with further technical analysis by City staff and consultants, will weave into a preferred framework that will serve as the basis for action on downtown housing, retail, safe and comfortable public spaces, a separate parking strategy and more.
Citizens from around the Thurston County region are encouraged to participate in the survey, including those who participated in a related workshop last November.
