Port of Olympia welcomes the community to a public meeting on the master planning process for development of its real estate in Tumwater. Set for June 11th, the meeting is the second in a series of public meetings designed to share information, gather ideas, and understand community members’ interests in the project.

The master plan will guide future growth within the New Market Industrial Campus and Tumwater Town Center (blue area on the map below). The two districts total over 500 acres which may be developed for commercial, industrial or other uses.

New Market Port Master PlanPresentations at the meeting will focus on (1) how the properties’ physical and environmental characteristics will influence development, and (2) the unique economic opportunities that the two districts offer the Thurston region. The presentations are based on technical studies about the properties’ marketability, environmental conditions and infrastructure needs.

The public is invited to share ideas about (1) how the land is allocated for commercial, industrial or other uses, and (2) the design principals and concept screening process that will be used to generate development scenarios later this summer.
