The maker of FreshPaper is once again partnering with Thurston County’s Waste Less Food campaign to extend special FreshPaper discounts that will help keep more fresh produce on your table and on the shelves of the Thurston County Food Bank.

In May 2014, the Thurston County Solid Waste Division teamed up with Fenugreen, the maker of FreshPaper, to give Thurston County residents a tool to help them waste less food at home and an incentive to purchase FreshPaper online. By ordering FreshPaper at www.fenugreen.com and using the special discount code “THURSTON” at checkout, county residents received one free FreshPaper pack, and Fenugreen also donated one FreshPaper pack to the Thurston County Food Bank. With over 2,300 FreshPaper sheets donated to the food bank so far, Fenugreen is extending the special online offer. Between now and the end of August, customers who order three packs of FreshPaper online can use the “THURSTON” discount code at checkout to receive a fourth pack for free, plus have one pack donated to the food bank.

“Our partnership with Fenugreen has already been a big success, and we’re really pleased that we were able to extend the special offer,” said Thurston County Solid Waste Educator Gabby Byrne. “FreshPaper is helping our residents keep more of their food out of the garbage—that’s a win for consumers. The fact that FreshPaper is helping the food bank get more healthy fresh produce to our neighbors in need means it’s a win for the environment and for our community as well.”

FreshPaper is an organic, biodegradable and compostable product that keeps your produce fresh two to four times longer than normal. Considering that the average family of four throws out about 25 percent of the food they buy to the tune of $130-230 each month, keeping your produce fresher for longer is good for your health and good for your wallet.

Along with online purchases, Thurston County residents can also buy FreshPaper at Ralph’s Thriftway, Bayview Thriftway and Olympia Eastside Co-op.
