The installation was the outcome of a collaborative energy and water conservation effort from the City of Olympia, LOTT, Puget Sound Energy, Washington Department of Enterprise Services, and Ameresco.

South Sound Solar has been a lead sponsor and organizer of the event for 6 years. The tour opens local homes and businesses that have solar installed, giving the community a chance to speak with homeowners, not sales people.
