Port Blakely Tree Farms Environmental Education Grant Recipients Announced

It is with great pleasure that Port Blakely Tree Farms announces the recipients of our annual Environmental Education grant. This year, four local schools were awarded funds:Port Blakely

  • Oakview Elementary School from the Centralia School District will receive $500 to be used for Camp Cispus alternative curriculum materials.
  • Simpson Elementary School from the Montesano School District will receive $500 which will be used for restoration projects in their school forest.
  • Pioneer Elementary School from the Olympia School District will receive $250 to implement a program called “Wolves in the Wild and Managed Habitats”.
  • Lacey Elementary School from the North Thurston School District will receive $100 to go towards their field trip fund.

Port Blakely Tree Farms developed the grant program in 2011 to assist elementary schools in providing environmental education opportunities for students. Any school that participates in Port Blakely Tree Farms’ environmental education program in Washington and Oregon is eligible to apply for grant funds.
