During the week of March 10th, Matthew Fields served as a page with the Washington State Senate in Olympia.
Fields was sponsored by Sen. Karen Fraser, D-Olympia. “It was a pleasure having Matthew helping us out this week in the Senate. He is an outgoing, bright young man and eager to learn. These qualities will take him far in life,” Fraser said.
In Fields’ family, paging is almost like a family tradition. It started when his grandfather was a page and since then many of his relatives have also paged.
“Everyone is really nice and friendly. I thought that everyone was going to be much more stressed out and grumpy,” Fields said.
Fields, 14, lives in Lacey where he attends Aspire Middle School.
