Customers of Swantown Marina’s 30-year-old launch ramp will find an upgraded facility this boating season.
The Port’s first phase of the two-phase project will replace the launch ramp floating docks. The contractor is currently constructing the floats off-site and will complete the in-water construction work by March 2014.
In summer 2015, the second phase will replace the asphalt staging and launching area and will include striping and curb repairs.
The Port is proud to partner on this project with the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office. For the first phase, the Recreation and Conservation Office is funding $123,423 and the Port is funding $72,362 for a total first phase cost of $195,785.
The contractor for the first phase is Bellingham Marine Industries of Bellingham, Wash.
