heritage bank tumwaterHeritage Bank prides itself on being a community bank that is highly accessible to its customers. So when the intersection of Capitol Boulevard and Trosper Road in Tumwater got so busy that Heritage Bank customers began to increasingly comment on the difficulty of getting in and out of the bank’s parking lot, Heritage Bank knew it was time for a move.

Heritage Bank just recently celebrated the Open House of its new Tumwater branch with its employees, customers and Tumwater community.

Cheri Finger, Tumwater branch manager, is enthusiastic about the new location, even after only operating a month in the new space. “The entire staff loves our new branch and our customers love it as well.  It is a beautiful branch and I’m happy Heritage Bank could bring such a lovely building to the Tumwater community,” she says.  “Our customers are particularly happy about how easy it is to get in and out of the parking lot. I have actually received many hugs from customers because they are so pleased with the new branch.”

The new Tumwater Branch offers Heritage Bank customers better access, a vault of safety deposit boxes, multiple drive up lanes, drive up ATM, conference room, additional offices for management and lenders and a spacious lobby. The branch size has increased from 2,000 square feet to 3,800 square feet.

“We are now a full service branch with a lender who knows Tumwater well and has a space to discuss new accounts with privacy and confidentiality,” commented Cindy Huntley, Senior Vice President Retail Banking.

She remarks, “We wanted to provide our customers and the Tumwater community with an updated, more traditional branch offering the same quality as our other branches and remain in the Tumwater business district close to where we were originally located.”

Supporting the local community is a top priority at Heritage Bank.  Vice President Bank Facility Officer, Lori Fobes, coordinated the construction of the new branch. “We try to use our own local customers as much as possible in the building process. We are proud to have had our design and construction completed by our local customers including Puget Sound area general construction company, Mountain Construction and BCRA Architects who have designed several commercial and medical buildings in Thurston County,” comments Fobes.  Heritage Bank also used well-known and highly talented local landscape architect Jeff Glander of Jeffrey B. Glander & Associates.  Additional local contractors included Olympic Engineering and Thoren Electric from Tenino.

While it is evident that Heritage Bank supported local businesses by contracting with them throughout the construction of the Tumwater Branch, Heritage Bank is also highly involved in the Tumwater community.  Finger has served on the Tumwater Chamber of Commerce Board for the past four years and remains active with chamber activities.  Finger and the Tumwater Branch staff are highly involved in the United Way Day of Caring and donate bikes and helmets for both boys and girls to the Tumwater Tree Lighting Festival every year. Also annually, the Tumwater Branch staff holds a bake sale with all proceeds donated to Relay for Life.
