tsunami debrisHere is a close-up photo of the GPS drift transponders released by researchers at Tattori University in Japan. Three months after the March 2011 Japanese tsunami, about 150 of these transponders were released from the inundation zone in order to study debris drift patterns. The transponders include instructions for how to contact the researchers if one is found.

Thank you for keeping an eye out!
