The North Thurston High School girls soccer team was looking for revenge Tuesday night and judging by their recent performances, the Rams appeared in prime position to do so against their cross-town rival Timberline High School at South Sound Stadium in Lacey.

Despite going undefeated in their previous five matches, the Rams fell to the Blazers 4-0, giving Timberline the series sweep for the 2013 season.

In September, Timberline defeated North Thurston 3-1, the Ram’s first 3A Narrows League loss of the season.  Tuesday night’s loss was their third league loss and their first defeat since falling to Wilson High School of Tacoma by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

For the Blazers, it has been over a month since their last defeat, with the victory over the Rams extending their winning streak to six games.  Timberline has yet to lose or tie a 3A Narrows League game and their last five victories have all been shutouts.

North Thurston’s goal in the first match between the two schools was the sole score allowed by the Blazers in league play.  With only five games remaining in the season, Timberline remains atop the league standings with a 7-0 record (7-1-2 overall) while North Thurston sits in third place at 4-3 in league (5-4-1 overall).

Next up for Timberline is a home match against Foss High School at South Sound Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 17 beginning at 7 p.m. North Thurston travels to the Stadium Bowl in Tacoma the same night with a match-up against Wilson High School, who sits at second place in the 3A Narrows League.
